Took my family here to picnic and hike the Fourth of July Trail. We had a wonderful time. The forest looks very green and healthy after all the summer rain. I will be coming back many more times to day hike and camp with my wife and children. Also the fall change is supposed to be beautiful, I can't wait!
I've never camped here but used this as a starting off point for on of the many hikes you can do in this area. There is beautiful flora and a stream along most trails and a couple that lead up to the crest. This canyon is beautiful in the summer but Autumn is when it's at it's most beautiful.
You could camp, hike and just enjoy the stream!
Beautiful in summer or fall. It's a bit of a drive but so worth it! Fall colors are usually best around mid-October.
The campground was maintained well, but one of the bathroom facilities was locked with a lot of fallen leaves stacked up against the wall. The trash bins seemed to be maintained well, too.
